In all of Nana and Papa's visits we'd yet to go to the coast. It's a bit of a trip at about 4hrs one way. But definitely worth it. We were able to see dolphin pods in the bay, play with sea snails on the beach, and collect tons of sea shells. It was a bit on the chilly side. Probably in the sixties low seventies. Lily decided that was warm enough for a swim. So when we were thoroughly chilled we took our popsicle Lily and we all headed to Snoopy's to warm up and for some really good seafood. If you're ever in Port Aranasas, Mustang Island area, definitely a great place to eat.
We left so early in the morning that the girls were still in their pj's. There are a ton of beautiful birds down there too. But the one we heard the most about, thanks to Nana, the pelican.
"A marvelous bird is the pelican,
His beek can hold more than his belly can!"
Man you haven't lived until you've heard that a few hundred times, trapped in a car, for eight hours.................. thanks Nana-NOT!
